法務部前晚核准槍決6名死刑犯，國際特赦組織質疑這是為了平息民怨。對此台北市長柯文哲表示，司法不應該被拿來當成反映民意的工具，這實在有點「不文明」，呼籲司法該保持公正和獨立。
台北市北投文化國小劉小妹遭割喉殺害，引起民憤衝天，法務部在劉小妹頭七當天批准死刑令；國際特赦組織則批評，台灣槍決是人權倒退的決定。
昨日柯文哲出席北市各級學校畢業生市長獎頒獎前表示，雖然他有時也會看當下民意情況，調整政策施行方向和速度，但就他個人理念來說，還是希望司法是一個「公平而獨立的機關」。
柯文哲強調，司法的象徵「正義女神」，手中拿著長劍和天秤，但眼睛是戴著眼罩矇起來，這意味著執行司法應當是公正獨立、不徇私且一視同仁，所以，不該拿來當成反映民意、做為政策的工具。
媒體詢問，這席話是否代表不認同法務部的作為？柯文哲先是笑稱「不要批評人家」，但隨後又說，若能看到台灣司法可保持公正、獨立，這是他的夢想；但若是將司法拿來當成反映民意的工具，「實在是有點不文明」。
